Howard & Denise Sabestinas
I (Howard) grew up in New York City. After 2 years active duty in the U.S. Army I moved to San Diego, California in 1970. It was there that I met my wife Denise. We were married in 1973 and decided to leave "big city" life in 1982 when we moved to Cut Bank, Montana; a town of about 3,000 people.
Denise had become a Christian one year after our marriage and attended a small Assembly of God Church in Cut Bank. At age 43, 15 years after my wife accepted Christ, I too had a conversion experience and gave my heart to Christ. I became active in the Cut Bank Church and my whole family (4 children) was serving the Lord.
In 1990 we moved to Kalispell due to a transfer with my work. We started attending Christian Center in September of 1990. Due to a change in ownership at my work and a reduction-in-force I lost my job in 1991. We trusted that God had a plan for me, and in 1992 I was asked to start work at Christian Center as the Business Administrator. When I accepted the position I informed the leadership that I would only stay for a couple of years at most. Little did I know that God would have me minister in this position for so many years, enjoying each year more than the last.
Working at Christian Center has blessed my life and allowed me the opportunity to expand my horizons in service to the Lord. My wife and I enjoy traveling in the missions field, going to Africa at least twice a year, and to Mexico once a year. In addition to my missions efforts, I teach Stewardship and Estate Planning, and I also counsel in the area of Anger Management and Conflict Resolution. My wife and I both enjoy reading, traveling, and most of all visiting our children and grandchildren.
