Jeremy Johnston
My family moved to Kalispell around 1980 from Northern California. I grew up at Kalispell Christian Center and have fond memories of seizing up the church riding lawnmower on the side hill when the church was located at what is now the Big Sky Family Medicine on Buffalo Hill (Yeah, I'm THAT guy).
My mother and father were very involved in worship and ministry at the church and my mother was church secretary for many years. I have three younger sisters and all of us kids were involved in the church in one area or another. I inherited a passion for technical things from my grandfather who also served at Christian Center and abroad in Belgium.
Even though my family life and heritage was steeped in the church, I didn't really grasp what it meant to live for Jesus until after college... the second time... (I managed to cram all four years of school into ten) when I moved to Southern California to take a job at an audio equipment manufacturing company. I learned that I really needed Jesus in my life as my Savior, friend and Lord. No technical or career aspirations could replace that need; since that time my growth in Christ has been by steady surges.
In late summer 2007 I was offered the opportunity to move back to Kalispell from Southern Indiana and join the staff at Christian Center as the Technical Director for the church. It was a blessing in several ways; I got to return to the place I grew up; I got to return to the church I grew up in and I was able to continue working and serving in a field I have always had a passion for - the technical ministries of the church. These days I can be found managing a growing team of volunteers, running sound lights or video (or all three) in any of several rooms on campus or getting a few runs in on Big Mountain either by mountain bike or skis.
