  SMALL GROUPS DIRECTORY

Dear Christian Center Family,

Small groups are alive and well at Christian Center, and there is a place for you! From groups gathered around our valley in homes for fellowship and study, to ministry groups focused on meeting particular needs in and out of church, to classes that tackle tough and challenging issues, we have a variety of options for you.

Take an opportunity to use this guide to facilitate your small group involvement. Look under the table of contents to see if there is a particular group of people you desire to connect with, or chose a type of group, say a home group, or a restoration group. Perhaps you are more ministry focused, and you want to get busy doing something. There is a place for you! From choir to Coffee Break, from Adopt-a-Block to youth ministry, there is a place for you to begin to grow.

Check your schedule, make some changes if you need to carve out time and space to be committed to a weekly, twice a month, or monthly small group, but don’t let 2010 begin without your decision to find a place in a small group at Christian Center. We grow best when we grow together, in small groups!

Call me if you need help using this directory, or finding a place that works.

Mary Kay, 752-6428, ext.241

If you took the membership class this fall with Pastor Gregg, this would be a good follow-up class for you. However, this class is for anyone wanting to develop life-changing disciplines.  We will look at spiritual disciplines that will aid you in your spiritual growth.  Disciplines, such as Simplicity, Solitude, Meditation, Bible Study and Prayer will keep you on the path of spiritual renewal day by day. 6 weeks.

Location: Room 101

FOUNDATIONS
We have all heard many times the story of the wise man who built his house on the rock, and the foolish man who built his house on the sand. The difference between the two men is the foundation they chose to build upon. Our foundation must be made of: the truth, according to Scripture, about the nature of God, and His love for us. Other topics that will be covered (prayer, biblical patterns for life and ministry, strongholds, and learning to recognize the voice of God) are then built upon that foundation.
Start date: Jan. 24

PROPHETS AND KINGS - ISAIAH
When studying the prophets and kings of Israel, stopping to take a longer look at Isaiah is a must. It is the “crown jewel” of the prophetic books, covering everything from the sins of the southern kingdom to the coming of Christ and our future home on the new earth. It is written with such finesse and beauty that the reader not only sees into the heart of the prophet, but into the heart of God. As always, we will study not only the book itself but the history that prompted its writing.

MINISTRY GROUPS
ministry@kalispellchristiancenter.org
Mary Kay, 752-6428 x241

If you are looking to make a connection here at Christian Center, consider joining a small group of like-minded servants. The ministry groups here at church offer a variety of opportunities for service, and provide great places to make friends while serving others.

Ministry groups include Sunday morning guest services, like parking lot crew, ushers, greeters, coffee bar workers. Other groups on Sunday include Epic teachers, and nursery workers, or technical arts, like sound and projection. These Sunday opportunities are weekly events, but other options exist for more flexible time frames.

Wednesday evenings around Christian Center are packed with potential for ministry and service. Choir would be a great place to plug in, if worship is a passion for you. Children, youth, and young adults offer opportunities to build a legacy that will last into the future.

Adopt-A-Block gives people a chance to make the love of God tangible right in our own community. Consider partnering with this ministry if evangelism or caring for others are passions of yours.

Our annual Christmas outreach, The Gospel According to Scrooge, provides numerous types of ministry activities, including set building and painting, to costume design and production, to childcare and stage management. Think of this as a short-term way to explore some ministry options that you may never before have considered!

We hope to help you find a place of meaningful service that allows you to express your God-given uniqueness, and to connect with others who share your passion and concerns. Give me a call to get you started on this process of finding your place in the community of Christian Center!
