RESTORATION GROUPS
RESTORATION FROM ADDICTIONS
Accountability Group (for men)
Thursdays, 7 PM in Room 008
|
We Minister In These Areas:
Alcohol / Chemical Dependency
If you find that you cannot quit drinking or using entirely or have little control over normal or natural desires, you may have an addiction problem. A spiritual solution, along with accountability to others, may be the answer in conquering your situation. Sexual Addiction For those seeking restoration from compulsive sexual behaviors. This is a safe place to share struggles, pain, victories, and help to establish accountability and mutual support. Gambling For those seeking restoration from the compulsion to gamble. We will learn to place our trust and hope in spiritual solutions, rather than hoping in a provision of man. Anger For those who find that anger is their first response to problems. The anger may be very evident as rage, or less obvious in terms of withdrawal and isolation. We focus on managing a God-given emotion in constructive ways. Physical, Emotional & Sexual Abuse For those who have endured physical, sexual or emotional abuse. Restoration includes healing from the traumas of past experiences.
Group Guidelines
– Anonymity and confidentiality are basic requirements. What is shared in the group stays in the
group!
– Please keep your sharing focused on your own thoughts and limited to three or four minutes.
– There will be no cross talk please. Cross talk is when only two individuals engage in a conversation and exclude others.
– Each person is free to express feelings without interruption since we desire to support one another.
– We strive not to use offensive language since it has no place in a Christ-centered recovery group.
How Can I Get Involved? If this group sounds like something from which you would benefit. Please call Pastor Ted at 752-6426 for more information. WE CAN ... – Provide you a safe place to share your experiences, strengths, and hopes with others that are going through a Christ-centered restoration.
– Provide you with a leader who has gone through a similar situation and will facilitate the group.
– Provide you with the opportunity to find an accountability partner. – Encourage you to attend other services or meetings throughout the week. WE WILL NOT
– Attempt to offer any professional clinical advice. Our leaders are not counselors. – Allow members to attempt to fix one another.
